St. Eustatius or Statia is a small island south of St Martin and Saba. This is not a commonly dove island. The reefs here are under tremendous pressure and the hard corals are diseased or are dead. For what Statia is lacking in hard corals, it makes up for this in turtles. Lots of turtles and several very nice wrecks. Normally, I only take photos of what is good and is pretty, this time I have included some realistic photos of diseased corals and reef covered in Algae.
