Anilao is about 2 hours south of Manila in the Batangas area. It is known as the "Lembeh of the Philippines" This is one of the top macro location in the Philippines. This is mostly muck diving where you slow swim across the sandy areas looking for the small and sometimes VERY weird looking macro critters. Each dive is an opportunity to find some incredible sealife. There are a few locations which some reef, but this is not why you dive in Anilao. This is a great place to start to end a dive vacation in the Philippines as it is reasonably close to Manila Airport and the diving is great. Puerto Galera is a short boat ride away and that can offer more diverse reef dives.
